Feb 27, 2016 6:16 AM in response to Michael Calligerosby StalkingWolf,This is happening to me, started about 2 weeks ago or so. i have done all of the prior tests to fix it. That and some extra variations. No luck. It has to be software related. I know it's not GPS, because my Fitbit surge connects to GPS immediately and my iPhone is just lost for GPS. Very annoying!

Feb 27, 2016 6:56 AM in response to asp94by ickerus24,I just got off of the phone with Apple support. I walked them through the issue and told them that I completed all of the basic trouble shooting tips (reset network settings, turn off and on location settings, hard reset, and full restore of "new phone"). Once you do the full restore and the GPS still doesn't work, they consider that to be a hardware issue and not a software issue.
Obviously, if you have been trying to troubleshoot this issue over the past week, you know it is likely a software issue. What is more logical, several (at least 100?) phones have GPS the same time an ios update goes out, or GPS really breaks at the same time for several people.
I encourage everyone to call Apple support and try to bump this up.
I will be going into the store this afternoon to see what they do. I will update.

Feb 27, 2016 7:07 AM in response to ickerus24by pelinb,I have the same issue here in Turkey
I am using my phone's GPS tracking for activity measurement while I am running and although I have tried every app (runtastic etc) it does not follow my track and it produces faulty results about my speed, pace and actual track. I am using iPhone 6. I have turned it back to the service twice and all they are saying is that they have run all of the diagnostic procedures and it works fine. BUT IT DOES NOT...
I have every possible solution proposed here and NO RESULT...

Feb 28, 2016 3:28 AM in response to asp94by Haylam,Really annoying that my GPS isn't working properly suddenly. It worked a couple of weeks ago. But since it totally hasn't worked for absolutely no reason. I had severe issues with the gps showing my location totally off by about a mile in google maps and maps. The reset of setting only fixed my wifi issues but gps in waze doesn't work at all still. Although it seems like google works For some reason. Definitely a software issue than a hardware one. Shouldn't have updated to the new iOS. very disappointing.

Feb 29, 2016 9:30 AM in response to Haylamby roodboor,hm.. For those that having and issued are you guys are version 9.2.1 (13D20)? or still the 9.2.1 (13D15)? (to check which version you have go to "Settings > General > About > you would see the Version")
I updated my version to 13D20 the GPS that was unstable 80% was working right now is fully 100% working.
Try update to 13D20 and check if the problem still persist.
refer to this link:

Feb 29, 2016 8:23 PM in response to roodboorby mrs.soulnerd,I updated my iPhone 6 from 9.2.1 13D15 to 9.2.1 13D20.
I really really hoped it would work.
But nope.
Still no GPS fix, Waze, Apple Maps, nada.
TMobile pushed out a carrier update last week too and that did nothing for this issue either.
Any update on what extension # to call or who to talk to at Apple?
I have only had this phone a year, I should NOT have to get a new phone in order to get functioning GPS.

Feb 29, 2016 9:06 PM in response to mrs.soulnerdby roodboor, just curriosity, have you reset network setting? and restart your phone after you upgrade it? also try turn it off location and turn it back on as well.
if still not work then.. I guess try contact apple support either through chat or call.

Apr 8, 2016 11:09 AM in response to roodboorby tdotintoronto,Up until now I have avoided sharing extension as I didn't want undue rush of phone calls to one rep. Its kind of unfair, in my opinion. However, this issue is clearly affecting thousands of users. that coupled with the fact that Apple has so far been lukewarm to accepting/acknowledging the issue let alone fixing or replacing the devices.

Apr 8, 2016 12:04 PM in response to ickerus24by ickerus24,Just updating on my trip to Apple store. They still consider this to be a hardware issue and I am past the 1 year mark so I am out of luck. Fortunately, everything else on the phone continues to work.
Two additional steps I took:
-Switched sim cards with wife's phone and this did not fix the issue on my phone with her sim.

Mar 4, 2016 7:24 AM in response to ickerus24by roodboor,Just my curriosity, have you try backup all files and install all from zero?
What I am saying is restore the iphone to the original, and try with that maps if able to work or not?

Mar 4, 2016 10:31 AM in response to tdotintorontoby QOBS,I just called and left a VM that I'm following up on a case open to resolve the issue with loss of GPS on iPhone 6 after the update. I'm wondering do you think this method is most helpful of should we each open our own?

Mar 7, 2016 10:48 AM in response to asp94by Drewsak,So I've tried everything...restored device, installed the newer software 9.2.1 (13D20) you can only get th iTunes, etc etc.
I am still having the GPS issue.
Here is a little trick that I just started doing today that has worked both times my GPS signal went out. When I was using Waze this morning and the "No GPS" popped up...I simply turned the phone over and knocked lightly on the back of the iPhone a few times (like you are knocking on a door) and just like that the "No GPS" went away and Waze located me immediately. The GPS worked just like it suppose to.
Later on mid-morning the same thing happened..."No GPS". So I did the same thing...turned the iPhone over and knocked a few times on the back of the phone and GPS immediately started working!
Ultimately, I have only tried this twice but it has worked better than anything else (i.e. Turning phone on/off, shutting down apps, hard reset, etc).
Could have just been luck those couple of times but I will continue to do this and hopefully it keeps fixing the issue until I can get a new phone
Reply back if anybody has any success!
