iPad Mini 4 long time to recharge

A little advice please.

I upgraded my daughter's iPad mini to the latest model (iPad mini 4) for Christmas.

I have noticed that the new model seems to take a lot longer than the previous one to charge. Today it took 6 hours for it to do a full charge where, previously, it might have taken two hours. The wall socket and charger seem to be working OK as I have used them with other Apple products and have tried charging the new iPad mini on several chargers with no change in speed.

Is this just something with the new model or do I have a problem?

I would recommend to connect it to the charger, then turn of the iPad it will speed it up

The other step I would recommend is getting a stronger adapter for instance the iPad mini comes with a 5w adapter, I would recommend using a 10w or 12w adapter.
