Q: Windows installation failed

Hi there,

Macbook Pro - mid 2012 - 13''

Apple 500GB HDD

Samsung 500GB SSD (instead of optical drive)

El Capitan on the SSD - Bootcamp should be on the SSD as well.

While installing windows I already get this message:

IMAG1492.jpg

after installing I get the message that the computer can't be prepared for the next installation step. Reboot to windows after installation doesn't work. Tried different windows version and different usb-sticks.

Do you still want to try W7 or is W10 fine? In either case, please back up OS X, Windows and create a Windows System Restore point.

win10 is fine for me as well... and I put some Kleenex-parts inside the TheNatural-Adapter Kit... so the HDD is noiseless as well... I hope it's not getting to hot but shouldn't make such a difference... only a little part of the Kleenex is touching the HDD, the rest is inside the optical SSD-Kit-case.

    thanks again!

You can use noise-insulation, but heat still needs to get out. The Optibay location's design does not allow a lot of heat to dissipate and the Optical drive's slot can push air out. Does you Optibay caddy still allow air circulation from the slot-loading side?
