USB/Bluetooth devices disconnect after Mac Standby

Hi everyone,

I'm currently facing the problem that all my usb/bluetooth devices connected to my iMac disconnect all the time I want to wake my iMac from standby. (I have to press the power button to wake it from standby). I've noticed that this only happens when my iMac is in standby for more than 2 hours.

I'm running Mac OS Version 10.11.2 on my late 2014 5k iMac.
I use an Aukey USB 3 Hub, a Logitech C920, a Logitech MX Master and the Apple Wireless Keyboard.

I hope someone can help me out, this is so annoying!

1. Reset the SMC, as per > Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC) on your Mac - Apple Support

2. Open your Bluetooth Preferences > click the Advanced... button > make sure "Allow Bluetooth devices to wake this computer" is checked.

(that should allow you to wake the computer with your Apple Wireless Keyboard and possible even the Logitech mouse)

3. If your Logitech mouse is still not waking the computer with Logitech dongle plugged into the USB 3.0 Hub...?

(try moving the dongle to one of the USB ports on the back of your iMac)

Thanks for your suggestions. Resetting the SMC didn't bring any changes unfortunately.

Also, the setting allowing my bluetooth devices to wake the computer from sleep is always activated on my iMac.

Switching the USB ports did not work either. Even if I unplug the dongle of the MX Master and plug it in somewhere else again,

it looks like the mouse can't reconnect and keeps searching for a device.

Only a reboot of the machine "solves" the problem.

Edit: What I will try later today is to connect a wired keyboard and mouse to the device using several USB ports and see whether the Mac at least connects to them.

Even if I plug a wired mouse/keyboard into the iMac, the machine does not connect to them. Well .. it was worth a try.

It is not very clear......

1. you saying that, the USB keyboard and mouse are not connecting to the iMac at all...?

2. or that they are working, but not waking the computer after the 2 hour time period...?

It is starting to sound like......

1. the Aukey USB Hub is either bad or incompatible and causing problems

2. the iMac is either set to shut down after 2 hours or that the power is switching off.

My problem is that after my iMac goes to sleep, I cannot use any of the USB/Bluetooth devices that are connected to the machine.

The only way to wake it is by pressing the power button. And even after waking it from sleep, all my USB/Bluetooth devices still won't work.

I have to shut down the iMac by holding the power button and then power it back on again to get them to work.

The Aukey USB Hub does not cause this problem, as it happens even if the hub isn't even plugged in.

I hope this makes it more clear.
