Please help!!! I Downloaded the new version of OS X El Capitan which I now have a grey screen with an error symbol?!

Please help!!! I downloaded the new OS X El Capitan software on my Mac book air and after it 'downloaded' the software I was asked to input my iCloud details which then followed in the computer restarting, which is now directing me to a grey screen with an error symbol in the middle! What do I do???

Hey CaS12345HI,
I understand that you are getting an error symbol upon startup. Is it like the one below. If it is, the best thing to do is to reinstall OS X to resolve it.

When you see a circle with a slash symbol instead of the Apple logo, it means your Mac couldn't find a valid System Folder to start up from.

If you're using your Mac at a school or business, it might be trying to start from the wrong version of OS X. Contact your IT department for more help.

If this is your personal Mac, try reinstalling OS X by using OS X Recovery.
