Mail won't work after Migration Assistant from old to new iMac

Did a Migration Assistant transfer of everything from a 2007 Intel Core Duo 19" iMac to a 2012 i5 27" iMac. Everything worked fine EXCEPT Mail. It popped up a dialog box for each email account asking for the passwords. When passwords were entered was told each one was wrong or didn't match. It still works fine on the old iMac with the same passwords as entered and turned down on the i5. Why is this and how can it be fixed? The old iMac has been sold so I HAVE to get the i5 27" working. Any ideas or help that can be given is appreciated.

Works! Had to go all the way down into Mail>Accounts>Account info>Outgoing Mail Server>Edit List..... the password fields were blank on both accounts on the "new" machine. Just entered them there and everything matched. Thanks for your help.

Try this... From your Mail menu choose Preferences > Accounts > "enable this account" (top center) and be sure it is checked, if it is uncheck and recheck it.

Thanks. I'll give that a try. I am not at the location of those computers right now so will have to try that tomorrow.

Also launch Mail and go to preferences and check each mail account "outgoing Mail Server SMTP and make sure the proper one is selected. when you Migrate sometimes it could be none or the wrong one.
