Setting up Minecraft on MacBook pro

I Just purchased a MacBook Pro. Before I ask my question let me preface this by saying I know nothing about computers. I wanted to install Minecraft for my son. I downloaded it but the Mac keeps telling me to install it. I've ended up installing it 3 times. And we still can't figure out how to open it. Can someone dumb this down for me? Also is there a way to save this to our desktop or the task bar at the bottom of the screen? Thanks.

It sounds like you already have it installed. Go back to Finder and check under applications. If you see Minecraft double click it.

There are a few ways to add an alias to your Dock.

  1. Open your Launch PadUser uploaded file
  2. Find the App and drag it down to the dock.

Another way is when the app is open and shows in the dock click over it with two fingers. Then you should get a menu that comes up. Click options> keep in dock

I Did. When I drag it that's when the window pops up saying "an item named Minecraft already exists in this location. Do you want to replace it with the one you're moving?" And I clicked replace. And nothing different shows up. Sorry but I don't know how to show you the window that pops up.

I Found it and my son is able to play it now. Thank you! Is there a way to add it to my task bar at the bottom of the screen or set it up as an app on my desktop or will i have to go to finder and applications every time he wants to play it?
