It may help to close the Watch app and all other open apps on your iPhone and then to restart both devices:
- Close open apps by double-pressing the Home button on your iPhone, then swiping up on each app preview.
- Turn both devices off together first, then restart your iPhone before restarting your watch.
- To turn your watch off: press and hold the side button until you see the Power Off slider; drag it to turn off and wait for it to finish.
- To turn it back on again: press and hold the side button until you see the Apple logo.
If you have not yet done so, it may also help to update your iPhone and Apple Watch to the latest software versions (presently iOS 9.2 and watchOS 2.1):
- Update the iOS software on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
- Update the software on your Apple Watch - Apple Support
