Q: I want to change the core email address I use for Apple ID. How do I do this?

I have changed my gmail address and no longer use that address. Is there a way to change the core email address i use for my apple ID? It seems that I have to lose everything to get a new apple ID with a different email address.

Pay close attention to #1.
If you change the "email address (apple id) to another email address, BEFORE you sign out on your other devices, you will NOT be able to sign out and back in with the "new" version unless you go back and change it back to the old version...
