Q: iCloud password not working.

I Just received an Apple MacBook, while trying to set it up, it keeps asking me for my iCloud password. When I put in my password a box comes up saying, " this account uses an iCloud password to log in. If you need to change the password, use another device to change it at applied.apple.com"  well when I go to that website, it doesn't even show my MacBook. What am I doing wrong or should I reset it?

    Hi Bockmdam,

If I understand correctly, you've received a new MacBook, and are attempting to change the password for the Admin account that exists on the system. If this is the case, you may not be able to do so. If there's an existing Admin account on the system, you may need to follow step 6 of the article linked below to return the system to a state where it can be set up by yourself.

    Erase and reinstall OS X

To reformat your hard drive and reinstall OS X, follow these instructions.

After you reformat your hard drive and reinstall OS X, the computer restarts to a Welcome screen and asks you to choose a country or region. If you want to leave the Mac in an out-of-box state, don't continue with the setup of your system. Instead, press Command-Q to shut down the Mac. When the new owner turns on the Mac, the Setup Assistant will guide them through the setup process.
