my ipad will not allow me to send e mails on hotmail after password change

I had to change my password on my hotmail account and now I cant send messages on my ipad 2. I can on my laptop. When I press send it comes up with the error message 'the username or password is incorrect' and sends the message to draft.

I have changed the password on my apple account to the same one as my e mail account and rebooted but it still says the same thing.

This is sooo frustrating!

Thanks for participating in the Apple Support Communities.

It looks like you can't send email from your iPad after changing the password for your Hotmail account. I know this can be a frustrating situation.

In addition to checking the email account settings and restarting your iPad, make sure the device is connected to the internet. After this, I'd recommend removing and re-adding the email account using these steps:

Remove the affected email account from your device with these steps:

Tap Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars.

Tap the email account.

Tap Delete Account.

Add your account again.
