Wired and wireless keyboard not responding.

The keyboard issue is crazy. I have been having trouble getting my iMac to recognize my wired apple keyboard. I finally found a note telling me to turn off the blue tooth for the wireless keyboard (in case it was intertering with the wired keyboard) and to put a usb Zip drive in the wired keyboard and it was able to keep my keyboard working for a week or so. I made the mistake of updating my Microsoft office and on reboot my iMac wont recognize either the wired or the wireless keyboard. Help! I can access my computer to change any settings.
