I'm not getting the "ask to buy" notifications when the kids select "ask" when they want to download an app. Anyone else run into this problem?

We are on the family sharing and the kids have iPod touch's. I have an iphone 6 and a MacBook Pro. i got all notifications that family sharing was established. When the kids select an app to download it asks about entering the password each time and then they have the option to select "ask" permission to download the app. I have walked them through this on both devices and I am not getting notifications from either device. It's been about 2 hours and i've restarted My phone.

Help...kids are restless and what their apps.

Check in notifications on your phone.

thanks for your response! I've checked There and I'm set to get notifications from the App Store. Should it be a notification from iCloud? If so, I don't see that as an option on my notification list.

No, what I meant request for ask to buy can be found in Notifications area. When you swipe your screen from the top down. It is not an option, just notification and you can click that notification and approve or decline.

Oh ok. I swiped down and it's not an option on my notifications. would it be in my email or is there a seperate icon for "ask to buy"?

do that one more time. Have them to ask to buy something and then check your notification and there should be notification from icloud .

Just tried again and no notification. Ugh. I had them both do it. I did see the notification from "family sharing" that their accounts were set up but that's the only notification that I have regarding iCloud family sharing. I think we're just going to have to battle the store tomorrow.

Crystal, you seem to be having very similar problem with that guy.

Ask to Buy not preventing download on child account

You can try his workaround - enable restrictions, but if you do go to the store and they can't fix it, ask them if they think it is a good idea to submit report to Apple engineering - you may have encountered a bug in ios 9.2.
