"cannot connect using ssl" error with iphone

I have an iMac with Maverick. I am running OS X Server version 3.2.2. I haven't upgraded past this because I can't figure out how to run what I want, can't find any useful documentation on how it works, and don't see changing until I can.

I (again) am trying to connect my iphone through General>Mail,Contacts,Calendar>Add Acount>Other>Add CalDAV Account, to a calendar account I created.

I enter the "Available at" name, listed in OSXServer in the slot for Server, into the iPhone under the Server slot. I enter the user name and password (which I created for a joint calendar in OSXServer), and hit next. I get the error "Cannot connect using SSL," or "cannot verify...".

I am desperate for help. Can anyone provide me either details on how to do this correctly, with the error explained, useful links on how to do this, or a link to a detailed manual on how to use this feature in OS X Server? I have spent a lot of time searching for answers, to no avail.

Will.
