Q: Advice on buying a refurbished MacBook Pro from 3rd Party?

This is where I would buy a refurbished computer if I was inclined to buy a refurbished computer, which I am not.

Difference is £30, not £50, sorry.
Well, yeah, I'm not "inclined" to buy refurbished either, but I need a MacBook Pro and definitely cannot afford to buy it brand new, and Apple UK (where I am) does not have refurbished deals in my price range, as I mentioned. original system, and then leave it tied to an Apple ID, and some account you cannot upgrade...
Avoid models offering an OS X version they did not ship with, installed as an 'upgrade' since
it does not help a new owner of a used computer to have a later OS X installed by someone
who has no clue (or care) that the later end-user cannot update or upgrade any apps or the
OS X if the unit has not been prepared for resale by the original owner...

Older models that had their install-restore system on media DVD disc, should have the original
included in the re-selling of the device. And be restored to the version as-shipped when new.
This is a headache if not done ahead of the sale and done correctly; especially if the product
is shipped to you at a distance and the original owner is anonymous. Or the secondary re-
seller who may have used an Apple ID they've set up for the purpose of 'refurbishing' did not
bother to follow through and actually restore the computer to an OS X you can go online and
personalize the computer on first-boot or initial start-up. Then you can upgrade OS X and Apps
to your own Apple ID and so on, from the online App Store.
Other shared devices that work with an Apple computer would also be affected if you get one
that was not prepared correctly, since your Apple ID won't work to set them up correctly w/ it.
