Using a Macbook pro without the screen

My son dropped his late 2012, 13 inch Macbook Pro and now the screen is just grey with random lines. The screen is the only problem. I can hook it up to my tv via the HDMI and it works just fine. He decided to go PC, now I have a Macbook. I plan on using it to surf the web on my tv. Is it possible to remove the screen and just use the keyboard? The screen just gets in the way after all. Thanks.
