Q: why does windows 10 installer crash on bootcamp 6 update?
In 10.11.2 I have all the updates. Firmware is up to date. I then restarted into windows. I did the systray update from 8.1 pro to windows 10 pro. all worked well, until Apple Software update detects bootcamp 6 update.
Apple Software update downloads the 1.163 gig bootcamp 6 file.
Installer verifies the download
Installer stays stuck on "installing" progress bar stalls shortly after verification
Desktop icons get re-arranged to Left
Windows Clock sets itself to 8 hours ahead.
Installer freezes.
End Task on Apple Software update executed
Re-Open Apple software update and it claims that "your software is up to date"
If you install or remove any other software (for example remove solitaire) before that program removes itself, installer gives you a bootcamp error.
at this point you can run software update again:
go through the exact same never ending cycle.
anyone else experiencing this?
also keyboard and trackpad don't work correctly, tried downloading drivers to usb stick, also won't work.
