Q: Apple Watch not showing up on find my iPhone

I was of the understanding that my Apple Watch would appear within the find my iPhone app however, I have checked and it's not there.

i thought that it would be there to remotely control Apple Pay in the event that the watch was lost

Any help appreciated

    Hi

    Your watch is not supposed to be shown in the list of devices within the Find My iPhone app (and it does not need to be added anywhere within the app).

    Under watchOS 2 and later, Activation Lock is enabled for your watch automatically if you have Find My iPhone set up on your iPhone. Once enabled, Activation Lock requires your Apple ID and password in order to unpair the watch or to set it up with a new iPhone.

    In order to subsequently mark your watch as missing, you would use either:

    - the Watch app on your iPhone (go to: My Watch > Apple Watch > Mark as Missing), or;

    - iCloud.com: Settings > Apple Watch > click Is this device missing > click Mark as Missing.

    One of the results of marking the watch as missing is to disable Apple Pay cards on the watch.

    You would not use the Find My iPhone app and there is no any ability to physically locate your watch.
