Q: Using the Speedtest App: Apple TV = 12 Mbps; iPad = 36 Mbps. Why the difference ? When my WiFi gets slower, iMusic stops playing.

Using the Speedtest App to measure my WIFI speed, I get significantly different results between my new Apple TV

and my iPad Air2. Apple TV = 12 Mbps; iPad = 36 Mbps. Occasionally my WiFi will slow down. At that time,

iMusic may stop or pause for several minutes. Can anyone explain why I get different results, using the same

utility when testing my WiFi speed on my iPad vs. my Apple TV?

Apple TV (4th generation), iOS 9.1

I'm having the same issue on a new ATV 4 Down is about 6Mb and up is 9Mb. Same test on my iPhone placed on top of my ATV to ensure coverage is approximately the same and it gets 36mb and 9mb. I also notice that Netflix sometimes rebuffers. This almost never happened in my ATV 2 and my xbox1.

UPDATE: figured what was causing my slow download speed issues. I keep my ATV next to my Xbox and sky box. The ATV sits on top of the sky box wifi receiver. Moved this to the other side of the shelf and problem solved. I hadn't thought to try this before because, 1. My ATV 2 never had any issues, and 2. My iPhone sitting on top of the ATV had no issues.

ANyway, maybe t looking at your setup and see if that's the cause. Good luck.
