my Apple Watch gives me an electric shock. Anyone else have this problem? And a solution?

While wearing the Apple Watch I get low grade electric shocks from it. It causes pain, aching and discomfort in my wrist that radiates to my hand and up my arm. I feel a bit over-reactive about this, but my son put it on and the same thing happened to him. I exchanged it for a new one and the same thing is happening.

I've wanted this watch for so long and it's so highly functional for my work purposes. I want to find a solution that will help me keep it. Anyone else having this issue and have a solution other than returning it and going without it?

TIA

Apple Watch, iOS 9.2, null

It happens to me too. I have only had the watch since December (gift). It did surprise me (the shock), ha! Someone else wrote on this forum that the shock is when wearing the watch right after charging. I think this is my case. I thought I would find more users reporting this problem. Apple, are you erasing complaints? 😕

I have the same problem too... and I took it to Apple in Portugal and they say that the shocks and the sudden overheating are due to "statical electricity". I doubt about this... has an Apple fan I am very disappointed with this Apple attitude. I don't now if keep using it or what! Apple says that there is no problem at all with the the iPhone 6.

Hi

If you are experiencing electric shocks, stop using your watch and do not attempt to repair it yourself.

Arrange for your watch to be serviced (ie repaired or replaced) by Apple.

Hardware service can be arranged by contacting Apple Support (mail-in service may be available) or making a Genius Bar reservation:

I Ended up calling apple support. The watch itself was defective. It's been night and day since having it replaced. If anyone else is getting shocks from their watch I would contact Apple. It happens mildly when it is taking my pulse, which can be normal, but the constant shock from it not doing anything is not normal.

I just had this same thing happen to me about 5 minutes ago. This is the 3rd time it has happened to me and the first and the second time I thought I was just going crazy.. but this time it left a red mark on my arm and my wrist hurts.

Then also follow the same instructions in my previous reply.
