Q: Using Siri to play a movie that you have already purchased

I have setup an Apple TV for a person with poor eye sight. The Apple TV allows so many voice commands it means the user does not need to navigate which is just fantastic for visually impaired individuals.

What I need help with is when using Siri if I say for example play the movie "Brave" it shows many options but I would just like to play the movie "Brave" which I have already purchased.

I know this sounds like the answer should be just highlight the correct option and select and the movie will play. The problem is that the user is visually impaired and so having to select the correct icon is next to impossible.

Any help with this is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

AppleTV 2, iOS 9.2

I will give this a try but I think the problem will be that many options will still be presented.

What I would like to achieve is when I say "Siri play the movie Brave" I would like it to play the movie called Brave which I have already purchased. I do not want to be presented with many options related to Brave.

    Hope this makes sense.

Siri is currently limited in her visibility and based upon geography...

About Search on your Apple TV (4th generation) - Apple Support

Search for movies and TV shows in multiple apps at once

Use Siri (in select countries) or the Search app to look for movies and shows across apps on your Apple TV (4th generation). You can search by title, genre, actor, and more. With Siri, you can also refine your search as you go.

When you look for content with Siri or the Search app, Apple TV checks these content providers, with more coming soon:

    • United States: Movies and TV shows in iTunes, HBO GO, HBO NOW, Hulu, Netflix, PBS, PBS Kids, SHOWTIME, SHOWTIME Anytime
    • Australia, Canada, France, Germany, and United Kingdom: Movies and TV shows available on the iTunes Store and Netflix
    • Other countries and regions: Movies in iTunes

To look for content in one app at a time, just open the app and use its own search function.

    About search

    • You can use the Search app to find Apps in the App Store. Siri doesn't search for apps in the App Store.
    • If you have an Apple Music membership, you can use the Search app or Siri to search Apple Music.
    • The Search app and Siri don't search Home Shared libraries.

Thanks for your help. I think this has answered my question.

If you search from within the app i.e. Movies it should show only movies. Unfortunately it does not allow voice controls for searching if you have tuned on home sharing.

I will also have a play with the VoicOver option to see if that is another solution.

    Cheers.
