Archive & restore OS X 10.4

INstalling 10.4 disc 1 installed ok. Disc 2 will not install. It just sits with no progress. Have to power button off to remove disc 2. Restart computer and asks for disc 2 over and over. Trying other keys only produces "****" sound. Computer will only display insert disc 2 to finish install. Any help will be appreciated.

iMac (20-inch Mid 2007), OS X El Capitan (10.11.1), Beginner

That second Disc thing happens frequently, the best way around it is to do a Custom install, and eliminate enough Printer Drivers, Languages, Fonts, and Applications you don't need... then it may skip #2 altogether.

Insert Disc #1, hold alt or option key at power up. 🙂
