Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities!
I understand that you would like to sync only contacts from your old iPhone to your new iPhone. The easiest way to do this would be to use iCloud. If your old iPhone was using iCloud to sync Contacts, you can sign into iCloud on your new iPhone and turn on Contacts under Settings > iCloud.
Once you turn Contacts on, they should populate on your iPhone. If you no longer wish to use iCloud, you can sign out as described in the following article and choose to keep your Contacts on your iPhone as described in step 4.
Sign in with a different Apple ID on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
iCloud
- Tap Settings > iCloud on your iOS device. If you see the option to sign in, you can change your Apple ID now.
- Scroll down and tap Sign Out.

- Tap Sign Out again to confirm. After you sign out of iCloud, you might not be able to access some of your data that's stored in iCloud until you sign in again. If you're part of a family, you need to sign back in to use Family Sharing.
- Choose Keep on My iPhone or Delete from My iPhone when you're asked what you want to do with your iCloud data.
- Enter your password to sign out.
- Go to Settings > iCloud and enter your Apple ID and password.
- Tap Sign In.
If you updated your Apple ID email address and your device repeatedly asks for the password to your previous Apple ID, you can temporarily change your Apple ID to sign in.
If you don’t use iCloud, please let us know so we can provide more assistance.
Have a great day!
