    Hi

The hourly Stand goal is achieved when you stand up and move around for at least one minute during that hour.

Apple Watch uses an accelerometer to identify movement, so a minute's walk around with your arms swinging naturally will achieve this.

Repeat this within each of 12 separate hours throughout the day to achieve the daily Stand goal (completing the blue Stand ring on your Activity app icon).

Also check that you have set up the Activity app on your watch:

    - Tap on the Activity rings complication, or;

    - Go the Home screen (via a single press of the Digital Crown) > tap on the Activity app icon (coloured rings) > to get started, you will need to enter some personal information.

Also: on your iPhone, in the Watch app, go to: My Watch > Privacy > Motion & Fitness - check that Heart Rate and Fitness Tracking are both enabled.

It may also help to calibrate your watch. Calibration will improve the accuracy of health and activity related estimations including:

    - Calorie, distance, Move and Exercise estimations in the Activity App.

    - Calorie estimations for workouts when using the Workout app.

    Next try these steps:

On your iPhone in the Watch app, go to: My Watch > General > Wrist Detection - check that this is turned on.

On your iPhone, in the Watch app, go to: My Watch > Privacy > Motion & Fitness - turn Fitness Tracking off (or on, if it is currently turned off).

Restart both devices by turning both off together first, then restarting your iPhone before restarting your watch:

    - To turn your iPhone off: press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears; drag it to turn off. To restart, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button.

    - To turn your watch off: press and hold the side button until you see the Power Off slider; drag it to turn off. To turn it back on: press and hold the side button until you see the Apple logo.

If you turned Fitness Tracking off in step 2, now return to the setting and re-enable it.

When the watch was first activated, it seemed to be working as expected, but now...  Activity App is only partially working.

I've tried this an all other suggestions in the community.  I can only conclude that there is a bug.

I used to get alerts for standing and I used to get alerts for goal achievement...  but not anymore.

Turn the watch off/on ...play with all possible settings...  still no luck.

The only activity that I can correlate to when it stopped working was possibly when I changed my "move goal".

Did upgrade to Watch OS 2.1 recently as well. No effect....  :-(

I am having the same issue with my iwatch.  It started having trouble on 12/29/2015 detecting stand.  Also I have noticed that notifications have quit working around that same timeframe.  And my watch now always remains locked even though I have the setting set to not lock if my phone is unlocked (this gets really old really fast)

I have tried: turning off both devices per instructions I have found on here.

    Un-pairing and then re-pairing

And finally I tried restoring to factory settings. I did this last night.

None of these have fixed any of the issues.

I can take the watch back and get a replacement, but I am wondering if there is a bug that may be affecting my watch.  I have googled and searched to no avail of any solution working.

I received the watch on 11/28/2015. Worked AWESOME up until 12/29...

If none of the steps mentioned in this thread (including unpairing / re-pairing) resolve the issue, contact Apple Support (mail-in service may be available) or make a Genius Bar reservation for further assistance and with a view to having your watch checked under warranty:

I'll try going to the Apple Store and making an appointment.  I still suspect a bug in Watch OS 2.1.  Everything was working well until the upgrade, then things went all haywire. Complete reset still has the watch installed with OS 2.1.  The timing is similar to jlm65 above:  My defects started 12/31/15.(Note steps in  screenshot below)

There is a lack of notifications from Activity as well as the iPhone Messages app...  A hardware failure would not likely stop notifications if the local application shows things like completion of a Move or Exercise goal.  The Workout app is moving into Pause mode after just a few steps all on it's own.

Runtastic works just fine.  "Watch-On" with wrist move works.  Notifications from wallet are working.  Weather app and stock quotes update.  Settings (like airplane mode) synch.  This has me concluding that the watch and phone are communicating and that these basic functions COULD work.

Is there any way to  back out the OS upgrade?

It is not possible to downgrade / restore to a previous version of watchOS.
