Q: Partition is full

Here is my question - I let someone install OS El Capitan by partitioning a small portion of my hard drive. Now that partition is the source of my apps + downloads, its getting full, I don't know how to utilize the other partition? Please help? I have a 250gb SSD that has been partitioned backwards it seems

Mac Pro, OS X El Capitan (10.11.2), Samsung 850 EVO 250gb SSD install

You were booting from your Mac before that partition was created and El Capitan was installed on it. Open System Preferences>Startup Disk and see if the original boot partition is still there. If it is, select it and reboot. If you wish, you can delete the partition with El Cap in it and expand the original partition back into it. Note that doing so also deletes everything that is on the El Capitan partition so be sure you first save all the files you want to keep.

Also note that if you really do have a Mac Pro (not a MacBook Pro), you can install additional drives (HD and/or SSD) in the other bays and with drive prices dropping substantially, why not expand your storage.
