Q: Can I share a Smart Album in Photos using iCloud?

I have OSX Yosemite and Photos 1.0.1. I have a Smart Album which is autocreated with all the favorites from the past year. I want to share that Smart Album on my devices.  I can't seem to find a way to share a Smart Album. Is there a way? Or any other way to automatically update devices as new photos get added to a Smart Album?

Many thanks in advance.

Do you want to share the smart album with other persons, or do you want to sync it to your mobile devices?

    • Shared albums can be used to share photos with other persons, but you have to update them manually, if you want to add or remove photos.
    • iCloud Photo Library will keep the library in sync across all devices, but smart albums cannot be synced to the mobile devices this way, because the Photos.app on mobile devices does not support smart albums.
    • You can sync smart albums to mobile devices using iTunes Photo Sync, see:   Sync photos to your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch in iTunes - Apple Support
