Q: Life after AppleWorks?

No more Appleworks in Yosemite. What software do I need to do simple drawing, spreadsheets, data management?

OS X Yosemite (10.10)

A couple of choices in order:

    1. Purchase ($28USD) the retail iWork '09 DVD from Amazon, and follow that installation with the DVD-only Apple iWork 9.3 updater to have the latest iWork '09 versions of Pages, Numbers, and Keynote. The current Pages, Numbers, and Keynote applications cannot open respective AppleWorks documents.
      1. Each of these applications can respectively open (read-only) AppleWorks v6 word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation documents. No data management. The degree of AppleWorks document access will depend on the complexity of that content.
    2. LibreOffice v5.0.4+ is free, and an Office replacement for MS Office for Mac, or MS Office on Windows.
      1. Opens (read-only) ClarisWorks/AppleWorks v5 & v6 word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, (possibly drawings), and has a built-in database.
        1. AppleWorks database content will open in a spreadsheet without graphics, formulas, etc.
        2. OS X Yosemite has the sqlite3 database available through the Terminal application.
