Q: updating bootcamp to 6 fails

In a migration from an older mac (and this problem could have been there before). Trying to update bootcamp 5.x to 6.x from a USB drive built by bootcamp assistant and I get the following errors, the .msi file and directory its complaining about is there and I even tried replacing it with the one from the bootcamp assistant built one.. Bottcamp 5.x gives me wifi and probably graphics but no trackpad mult touch etc.

If this is the Winclone 2010/2015 restore, was the 2010 image SysPrep'ed? You may drivers from 2010 on the 2015 Mac, which will not work for many of the devices.

Make a Winclone backup on the 2010. After the backup, boot Windows on 2010 Mac and try uninstalling as many Apple drivers as you can.

Can you use the Device Manager and try to uninstall individual drivers on the 2010?

None here on the 2015, graphics is working (sort of weird behavior using evernote to screen grab, it zooms in and can't capture much the higher res full screen) Bluetooth looks hosed here too.

You now have nVidia devices show up as unknown and AMD devices added. This is why a SysPrep is necessary and recommended prior to such cloning.

Microsoft Ifixit was able to remove bootcamp
Yesterday when I tried to build a bootcamp assistant USB it only gave me 6.0, can't see how to get 5.x

Maybe I could just copy the drivers folder (specific to my 2015 Mac) that Boot Camp assistant created on USB drive and copy it to boot camp 5 Usb drive??

The 2015 drivers are not 5.0.5033 . They should be 6.x. You will have problems putting both sets on a single USB and trying to use either. What do you want to accomplish using either driver set?

I thought I couldn't use 6 because that's for Windows 10?
I was trying to individually install the drivers from the driver folder, and then install the correct Windows Boot Camp program.

The 2015 Macs do not support BC5 drivers. They only support BC6 drivers. This is part of the reason not to support W7 on 2015 Macs. This is also why you cannot clone a BC5.x Windows installation to a 2015 with drivers intact. Is the 2010 Mac not allowing to un-install individual drivers from Device Manager? The Bootcamp.msi and the entire installer can be put on a USB from Boot Camp Support Software 5.0.5033 directly and then use it to uninstall and get past the error you have in ScreenClip.png .
