It sounds as though you're trying to release Activation Lock on your iPhone prior to selling it, and are being told that your Apple ID or password are wrong. In such a situation it may help to verify this by logging in to the Apple ID account page. If you're unable to do so, the first article linked below can help get your Apple ID password reset.
