I'm unable to remove airplane mode from apple watch, need Help!

When I turn on airplane mode on my iphone 6 it does the same on apple watch (which is ok), but when I turn off Airplane mode on the Iphone, apple watch keeps saying that is Locked due is on Airplane mode, in other words, after applying the change on Iphone, Apple watch is not following the change.

I'm forced to turn off the Apple watch and then power back on, normally, this works on the first try but I have run into a few cases that I need to reboot twice. I'm pretty sure this is a buggy issue that apple will fix.

In the meantime, I tried to set up a passcode (4 digits), however, I don't option on the Iphone watch app looks like disable, when I trying to slide off the "Unblock with Iphone" it won't work, also when I tried to slide on the "Simple Code" feature it looks like fade. So I'm stuck right now.

Can anybody help me how to solve this? is this a bug or a defective apple watch?

Hi Carlos

What you have described is the correct behaviour. It is possible for enabling Airplane Mode to be mirrored between devices, but the same does not apply for disabling the mode, which must be done separately on each.

To change the setting for mirroring the turning on of Airplane Mode:

- On your iPhone, in the Watch app, go to: My Watch > General > Airplane Mode - enable or disable Mirror iPhone, as preferred.

When your watch is in Airplane Mode, it has Bluetooth and Wi-Fi disabled, so there is no way for it to receive any further instructions from your iPhone (including an instruction to exit Airplane Mode if and when the mode is turned off on your iPhone).

To turn off Airplane Mode on your watch:

- When viewing the time on your watch, swipe up from the bottom edge of the watch face > swipe left/right to the Settings glance > tap on the Airplane Mode button to turn the mode off > swipe down on the screen again to exit Glances.

You're welcome!

Regarding the passcode issue:

If passcode options are greyed out or unavailable, you likely have passcode restrictions enforced on your iPhone (via a corporate configuration profile, mobile device management or Exchange policy).

Passcode restrictions (for example, a requirement to use a complex passcode, longer than 4 digits) that are set on a managed iPhone also affect Apple Watch, so you would not be able to make certain changes to passcode settings on your watch.

If your iPhone is managed in this way, contact your device administrator for further information and help.

Thanks Jonathan, for the first part of my question I think that you recommendation to disable mirroring on Airplane mode will work =)

On the second part to unlock using a passcode, this is still giving me some problems, I checked that both devices have Airplane mode turn off, however, when accessing Apple Watch app on my iphone I'm still seeing Unlock with Iphone and simple code as Faded. The only setting that seems to be available is "Delete Data". I'm not sure if this helps to solve this puzzle?
