Q: Yosemite to El Capitan
Hello, my question is regarding upgrading to Yosemite to El Capitan. I converted to Windows, and I'd like to know if theres a way to clean install El Capitan without downloading the installer from the App Store. Does El Capitan just write over Yosemite?

Hi, Hatsune M.
Thank you for the question. It sounds like you want to upgrade to El Capitan, but you have a concern with the Windows side of your system being modified. You will need to make the purchase via the Mac App Store before you can go through any of the steps that I will recommend as I see you do not want to use the installer. Going through any of these steps shouldn't modify the Windows side of your system, so you should be fine with using the OS X Installer.
If you're wanting to completely erase your Mac OS X installation, then you do have the option to erase and install. However, this isn't necessary as the OS X Installer is designed to install over the earlier version of OS X. For more information about this process please check out the link below.

Before going through any of these options it is a good idea to create a backup of your information as a precaution.
