my photo stream : how to see what's saved there?

Hey community,

Even when emptying my iPhone from photos, there are still some photos on "my photo stream".

I would like to know:

• Are these pictures saved on iCloud?
• Can I access this database via computer?
• Can I avoid that my pictures are uploaded there?
