ipod stuck at one spot in a book

Greetings,

I have a 16GB iPod Nano that's been working fine for years mostly as a book player and gym music playlist provider.

It's having a problem with one of Diana Gabaldon's books. It's stuck at 1:24. It will play through that point, but if you do anything, like fast forward or jump ahead or play something else and come back, it will come back to 1:24.

I have

- reset the iPod (several times)

- deleted the book and redownloaded it from audible.com and put if back on the iPod

The book plays fine on the desktop computer in iTunes.

Other books play fine on the iPod.

The iPod is only about 1/2 full.

Mac OS is El Capitan. iTunes 12.3.2.35.

I'm looking for more things to try.

Hi Ellen,
I understand that you are having an issue with your iPod nano. The playback seems to be stuck at a certain time and only on one Audiobook from Audible. Let's take a look another troubleshooting step to get this working.
Now you said you have restarted your iPod, but have you restored it by using iTunes on your computer. Take a look at the link below to restore your iPod and the sync the content back again to see if it gets stuck at the same place.

I have done a restore to factory settings through iTunes. No change.

Hey Ellen,
That is strange as a restore would fix that if after the other steps you took didn't take. As far as additional troubleshooting, the only thing I can think of is to try in a different user on your Mac. Take a look at the article below for more details.
