I have an ipad 4th generation and iphone6s. I had them synced, but had to restore the iphone to factory setting because it kept saying too full to backup to icloud. I assumed my pictures were backed up to my ipad so I pushed the button. Great my pictures were still on the ipad! However, through some sort of ios update they are now gone. I did not have icloud set up on the ipad because we really dont use it for pics ( i do now) not sure where they went?? My screen saver on the ipad is one of the pictures lost from my phone and it is still there... Any feedback is appreciated. I usually backup photos but it had been a few months; I am hoping all is not lost..
Apple devices either back to iTunes or icloud, not to another apple device.

You can check if you had these turned on:

IF you don't have a back up then those pics are gone.
