Q: iMessage won't login

Hello all,

 

I have a Mac Pro 3,1 and the interface card when out from a power surge.  The rest of the machine is good.  I bought an Insignia USB to Ethernet adapter as that was the quickest fix.  I installed the driver and the network is connected.  However, iMessage won't login.  I get an error, "The username or password is incorrect" and confident it is correct as I use it often.  After several tries, I see it login for a split second and then another error, "An error occurred during activation"  I had suspected it was for some reason still trying to use en2 and the new adapter is en3 but not sure about that anymore.  I am logged into my iPad and iPhone and using it currently.  The MAC was working prior to the ethernet change.  Any thought?  I appreciate it!
