Ipod 7th generation unable to discover bluetooth devices

I just purchased a new iPod 7th generation; however, when I turn on bluetooth it simply says "searching". It is unable to discover devices.

The devices I am trying to discover are A2DP speakers and the iPod should be able to discover them. I am sure the devices are working, because I tested them with other bluetooth devices.
When I am attempting to connect to the speaker, there are no other devices using bluetooth nearby, nor, are any other devices even paired with the speaker. (I made sure every device forgot the speaker and their bluetooth was off).

I am stumped!!

I am past point of returning the iPod, but I really want to use the bluetooth.

Help!!

Thank you for the question and let's see how we can help get this resolved so you can enjoy your new iPod nano. From your post, you've tried most of the relevant troubleshooting steps that I could recommend. I would start with making sure the Bluetooth firmware has been updated on the speaker. You may have to reach out to the device manufacture for assistance with this. I would also double check to make sure nothing has been missed by going through the steps in the article below.

I just have a couple questions that will point us in the right direction if that article didn't work. You may have done this, but when attempting to pair the speakers are you making sure they are placed in Pairing mode? What is the make and model of the speaker? Have you tested any other Bluetooth accessories with the iPod nano?

Please let us know if the speakers still will not pair after going through all these steps.
