Thank you for the question and let's see how we can help get this resolved so you can enjoy your new iPod nano. From your post, you've tried most of the relevant troubleshooting steps that I could recommend. I would start with making sure the Bluetooth firmware has been updated on the speaker. You may have to reach out to the device manufacture for assistance with this. I would also double check to make sure nothing has been missed by going through the steps in the article below.

I just have a couple questions that will point us in the right direction if that article didn't work. You may have done this, but when attempting to pair the speakers are you making sure they are placed in Pairing mode? What is the make and model of the speaker? Have you tested any other Bluetooth accessories with the iPod nano?
Please let us know if the speakers still will not pair after going through all these steps.
