Q: IPHONE 6  SCREEN FLICKERING, GHOST TOUCHES AND NO RESPONSE WHEN WAKING

WHENEVER MY IPHONE 6 PLUS  128GB HAS BEEN SITTING IN SLEEP MODE FOR A WHILE(½ HOUR OR SO) WHEN I WAKE IT UP, THE SCREEN FLICKERS FROM THE TOP EDGE, AND THE SCREEN DOES NOT RESPOND TO ANY TOUCH COMMANDS. I HAVE REBOOTED, I HAVE RESET IT, I HAVE ERASED AND RESTARTED IT AND STILL IT DOES THE SAEM THING. AFTER A FEW MINUTES OF WATCHING MY PHONE GO THROUGH DIFFERENT APPS AND SETTLING DOWN, IT STARTS TO ACT NORMAL AGAIN. THIS ALL STARTED AFTER DOING THE LAST IOS UPDATE. (9.2). ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED.

iPhone 6 Plus, iOS 9.2

Since you already did the software troubleshooting part, this is a hardware issue and the phone has to be serviced by Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider:

Find an Apple Authorized Service Provider

iPhone - Contact Support - Apple Support

We've done that and are on our third phone. It is doing it again. It's difficult to wrap my head around hardware issues on three phones in a row... Has anyone noticed a trend in what is causing this issue? I was wondering if the case could play a part?

Did you use the latest backup after you got the new devices? If you did, the problem might have been corrupt backup data.

What kind of case are you using? Did you try to use it without a case?

Did you show the people at the Apple Store your device and the case you use, or did you get the phone replaced by Apple Support via Mail?

I have the same phone model (6 Plus, 128Gb, production end of 2014) and had the same problem,

In the begining, (phone activated in november 2015, as a replacement phone for a defective one) the sistem worked a bit slower, but doesn't stop responding, One month ago during scrolling the apps, the phone stopped working, black screen etc. The issue was solved with iTunes. This story appears again, with no connection with a specific app or battery level. Now I am facing a bigger issue, it doesn't start at all (even thru iTunes, error nr 9). The screen remained with the picture of "conect to iTunes". When I try to restart the actualisation, this begins to run till the moment when, in the iTunes upper bar writes: waiting for Iphone to respond... and that's all,

In my opinion it seems to be a hardware defective part, perhaps a memory if I can compare with similar problems with the laptop. Or maybe could be a refurbished one?

It was the latest iOS installed, 9.2.1 I believe

Is your issue solved? If yes, how?

    Thx

I have a iPhone 6 plus with the dreaded flickering screen. i went to the apple store they told me it was a manufactures defect and they replaced it.

This is  my fourth phone replaced, I asked about a free upgrade since this will be a continuing problem.they told me that they could only give me money from the one I have and i'd have to pay the difference. i told the representative i'd see him in another weeks

Here's what error 9 while restoring in iTunes can be about:

Sometimes security software can stop your device from communicating with either the Apple update server or with your device.

Check your security software and settings to make sure that they aren't blocking a connection to the Apple servers.

    Thank you,

I've already searched this error number and found it last weekend. I have changed three computers, one from apple store and three different lightning cables.

Now I've send it to an Apple store.

MY daughter has the exact same issue. Tonight phone #3 started acting up. Another trip & more frustration. Makes you wonder why it continues to happen to so many phones. She is considering going off Apple due to this. We can find no solution.

This issue started occurring on my device after replacing my screen and digitizer because the old one had been cracked. After replacing the screen I placed the phone in a brand new Otterbox Defender and it was fine for about 2 weeks. After the 2 week period, my phone started experiencing the flickering and ghost clicks. The only thing that improves the situation is opening up the phone and reseating the four cables from the digitizer. The issue will still come back after a week or so. When the phone is experiencing the issue I am able to resume using the phone by tapping on the screen in the general direction that the four cables are in (top right next to ear piece). This leads me to think that it is a hardware issue. Can anyone else see if my troubleshooting steps work for them?
