I used to receive phone calls (and could answer them) on my Macbook Pro. Can you refresh my memory as to how to turn this feature on? I must have turned it off inadvertently.

Your profile indicates you are running Mountain Lion (OS X 10.8). The features Miss Whipped describes above all require OS X Yosemite (10.10) or later. Current is OS X El Capitan (10.11.2).

What I need is a description of what the settings should be set to on my MAC and my phone to get this working again. Do you know?
Settings>Phone>Calls on Other Devices>Allow Calls on other Devices. Also, read the fine print below that setting.
I've checked the following:
I'm running El Capitan on the MAC and IOS 9.2
I'm logged into my i-cloud account on the MAC, and I-phone, FaceTime is logged into my I-cloud account
Both devices are logged into my home wireless network
Phone is set to allow calls on other devices (and even shows my MacBook Pro as a choice with the button on)
I used to see the notification on my MAC for an incoming call as shown in help.apple.com under "Use Your Mac to make and receive phone calls"
I did not do anything or turn anything off that I know of, but it just stopped working - several weeks ago
Any other suggestions?
Log out of iCloud on everything. Log out of your WiFi network and delete it. Reset your network settings on your iOS devices. Log back into WiFi. Log back into iCloud and FaceTime on the phone. Wait until everything is activated. Log back in on everything else.
P.S. Do all of this with your fingers crossed. 😉
Thanks. Will try this. Do I need bluetooth on? I saw somewhere that it was required for handoff features. I did not have it on, but when I turned it on (both devices) and tried to pair them, they won't. They show up, try to connect for a second, then disconnect. Just mentioning in case this has anything to do with the problem.
You need BT for Handoff. Good catch. But no, you don't pair the devices. It just has to be on.

However, I still cannot pair my phone and the Mac via Bluetooth. I get a "Network is unavailable" message, but they both show up as "not connected" on each other ...
