Dec 29, 2015 11:14 AM in response to Twittalby macjack,Go to your Finder "Go" menu hold the option key and choose Library. Then go to Preferences folder and trash these 2 files:
com.apple.finder.plist
com.apple.sidebarlists.plist
Then, restart, or log out and in again.
(You will have to reset a few finder prefs the way you like them.)

Dec 29, 2015 11:15 AM in response to Twittalby Lexiepex,Hold the power button until the mac shuts down.
Then start up again while holding the Shift key, when you see a progress bar appear you can let go of the Shift key. This method of starting up is very slow. When it is tarted up, login.
Then from the menubar click the apple menu icon and select "restart".
This might help.
