Apple does not do trade ins.

You may get around 10% or 20% of its value if you recycle it through one of Apple's partners though..

But in all likelihood, you'll get more for it if you just sell it outright yourself.

As to whether you should or not, that is a personal decision only you can make. Will you use the new writing features?

Do you want the larger screen?

Why do you want to replace your current one?

Verizon gave me $250 credit for my iPad Air 2 when I traded it in for an iPad Pro. Best Buy also takes trade-ins at reasonable prices, possibly better than Verizon. I take really good care of my devices, so the Air 2 was in pristine condition.
