Q: I am getting an electronic distortion: a sort of click/clack/pop sound like a loose wire connection or scratched vinyl sound, on my recordings.
Hi. Day One - just joined. I love Garageband (for iPad) and have been working with it now for about two months with some success.
I'm using the Focusrite iTrack Solo for Voice and Guitar and an iRig Midi for keyboards. Just recently, I am getting an electronic distortion: a sort of click/clack/pop sound like a loose wire connection or scratched vinyl sound, on my recordings. By a process of elimination I have worked out that it is on the voice track. I have tried everything to adjust volumes and settings, but it still happens.
I'm using an external mic (Samson Q7) which works perfectly through my Vox amp. Maybe I should have a condenser type mic for recording??
Any thoughts?

I should have known!!! And I found out by accident: If all else fails, switch off, pull out all the leads and start up again. There I was thinking it was a tough case for the GB Gurus. Just before pulling out the leads I had pulled out half my hair in frustration. I identified that the problem was on the Guitar Track as well. This meant one thing: the Focusrite interface iTrack Solo was the guilty party, so I went online to get them. I needed my serial number at the base of the unit and had to pull out the leads to do so…
… when I put it all back together it worked perfectly again
