Q: Changing Account to another country and iTunes Match

I have moved from Australia to the UK and need to change the itunes store to the UK now, so that I can use my new UK credit card and also use UK specific Apps, such as the BT wireless app, which is only available in the UK store, not in the Australian one. I will also not be able to use my Australian credit card much longer. However, in iTunes I get the response that I need to cancel my iTunes Match subscription before I change country. That's fine.However, on the support site is says;'If you subscribe to iTunes Match or have an Apple Music membership, you need to wait for your iTunes Match subscription or Apple Music membership to expire.' This is uniquely unhelpful and restrictive. I need to use the UK iTunes store NOW, and I need to use my UK credit card NOW and can't wait until my subscription runs our in September. Can someone please tell me how I can change the region of my account now, rather than in 9 months?

    When the subscription is canceled you will lose access to all music in the cloud and will not be able to get it back, so be sure and have a good backup of all your music before you do anything permanent. Once you are established in the new country and have an account on the new iTunes Store, if the iTunes Match service is available in that country you may subscribe again but all your music will have to scanned, matched and uploaded again.


    Because the iTunes Match service is tied to one Apple ID and regional iTunes Store it is not possible with switch iTunes Stores with the subscription active. The subscription must be canceled by iTunes Store support. Start athttps://expresslane.apple.com to contact iTunes Store support.

    Many thanks to Niel and itunes999. I contacted the itunes store with the link Neil provided, and they were able to sort this out for me. And as itunes999 suggested, much of my music was lost, but being warned I had made a backup. So many thanks!
