iCloud Backup failed, cannot be enabled...
Hello,
I have two iOS devices:
- Device 1: iPhone 5 (MD297)
- Device 2: iPad 4 (MD524)
- Both devices iOS 9.2 (13C75)
Device 1 is correctly backing up on iCloud and iTunes (Windows); the backup size as shown in Settings/iCloud is about 400MB.
The photo library (shared) is also consuming about 650MB of my iCloud space which is limited to 5GB (standard free capacity).
Device 2 is correctly backing up on iTunes (Windows) but do not backup on iCloud anymore since my last backup on October 18, 2015 (I do not recall which 9.x version of iOS it was at that time - I am usually upgrading soon after availability of the new versions). According Settings/iCloud... the next backup should be around 2.9GB which, together with the already consumed 1.05GB is not exceeding the 5GB limit.
I searched for solutions across forums, communities and tried unsuccessfully many hints, among others:
- Deleting older backups (was not straightforward but eventually worked)
- Connected to different WiFi, with and without power cable
- Disconnecting from iCloud and reconnecting (Could only re-enable iCloud backups from iTunes, not from iOS)
- Hints from Fromsouth in this article Backup problems after ios 9
"Problem C" - one device is baking up the other not
- Cannot deactivate backup of individual Apps - says "Cannot deactivate at this time"
(waited for the wheel stop rotating)
- Cannot deactivate backup of individual Apps - says "Cannot deactivate at this time"
Does anyone have any further suggestion?
thanks a lot, regards,
Pierre
