Q: Sharing photos from MacBook to AppleTV gen.3

In the latest upgrade for iTunes (to 12.3.2.35) the possibility to choose what Pictures file you liked to Share in "HomeSharing" disappeared.

That possibility does'nt exist anylonger, what I can find out.

So instead of showing 8.800 picures approx. it shows about 300.

Why can I not choose the file called "Bilder Library.photoslibrary" any longer?

MacBook Air, OS X El Capitan (10.11.1)

    Have you moved the library.

Where are these 300 photos kept.

    Hi Winston Churchill

and thank you for your reply.

Yes, I have moved my iTUNES media to: /Volumes/media/Music/iTunes 1/iTunes Media   due to size problems (to many films and songs).

On the other hand i still have my PICTURES in home/Pictures library.

It's embarrasing but I don't know where they are. I suspect they are in iCloud. But on the other side iCloud Drive does'nt show any indications of the Pictures being there.

Then is there this problem why I can not choose the file called "Bilder Library.photoslibrary" any longer in iTUNES under HOME SHARING? I can just choose the library PICTURES and then it counts 348 pictures, not the 8.800 approx.

    Thankful for your answers Winston.

That isn't how you should select photos for homesharing. You should choose iPhoto or Photos depending on which you are using from the drop down menu at iTunes > File > Homesharing > Choose Photos and then choose the photos from the selections underneath.

This functionality seems to have changed for me - I can no longer select the Photos library, in order to chose the albums. I can't find any setting in preferences to update this either.

It worked in November when I bought the Apple TV - annoyingly it was one of the features I bought the Apple TV for, so if it has changed then I'm unimpressed..

It's hard to say whether you have the same problem as the OP here, you might be better starting your own thread in any case.

    So stupid of me!

Thank you so much Winston Churchill. Finally I understod that I should select the primary one furtherst up, to say the one with graphics for Pictures and the actual Pictures application.

Suddenly the approx 8.000 pictures were counted up in Home Sharing. Lovelly.

    The very best regards
