Apple TV 4 : Will mu-mimo wifi router improve HD streaming?

I am having issues streaming HD content over wifi to my Apple TV 4th Gen using Infuse Pro, the standard def videos works fine. The NAS hosting content is plugged into the router directly.

Planning to upgrade my wifi router (3-4 years old) to the latest model. The ATV 4 spec says it support MIMO, just wondering if it can take advantage of a MU-MIMO router? Looking for feedback before I spend $250 - $300 on a router with MU-MIMO support.

Thanks

Ramesh

You shouldn't need any specialist equipment for the Apple TV to work properly. If it isn't you have interference on the network, incorrect settings somewhere or something similar going on.

DId some tests today. You are right, the wifi is fine, looks like it is my NAS. When streaming the NAS dashboard shows 10% cup, 36% ram, but LAN1 only sends between 2mb - 7mb, don't know what is going on. I even tried direct wiring, same result. Thanks for the help.

After some more tests, it looks like the issue is with Infuse/ATV4 combo not able to handle certain files. Lawrence of Arabia/DTS-HD streams fine but LedZeppelin Celebration Day/DTS-HD video keeps stuttering, both were ripped using MakeMKV. Not sure what is going on.

Ofcourse the DTS-HD passthrough does not work on my Denon AVR though, after looking into fire core site, looks like they are working on that issue.
