Q: Terminal not working
I recently was going through the process of getting ImageMagick using the (sudo port install ImageMagick). I installed and older Xcode 3.2.6. Then i installed MacPorts 2.3.4 10.6 Snow Leopard. Then i opened terminal. The login showed. I put "sudo port install ImageMagick" ... Then it asked me for administrator password, when i tried to type it it wasn't showing my text. Then i quit it. Now it opens with no login display. And ive tried a few sudo commands and it just stays unresponsive back to me. I can still type commands. It just doesnt respond/ seemingly not doing them. I tried reset, hard reset. Nothing still. What should i do? What did i screw up?
MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

I hope you solved it by learning that the sudo command's password prompt will NOT echo anything back to the display. You just have to enter your password and trust that the sudo command is seeing every key you type until you type the <return> key.
