23" Cinema Display´s power button has switched functions on its own

Hi everyone!

Inexplicably, the power button on my 23" Cinema Display switched back to its original "On/Off" function after having been programed to display the option window for "switch user - Rest(Reposo) - Power down". My second problem is that after powering down my Mac, I have to manually turn off the display, wich used to be done automaticaly.

This all started happening without warning and without me tampering on any system preferences. I remember choosing the buttons function two months ago, the first time I booted the Mac but now I cant find those options.

Any ideas/help?

Welcome to the club. Mine does that every once in a while also. Even if I lock it, it unlocks its self and changes. Hasn't done it since the last EFI update so I hope it's fixed on mine.

Hi!

Now its even worse! Now I have to manually turn on the display when I power up! Ive also noticed the the brightness slider has disapeared from my preferences panel!

Does anyone know where to change the display buttons function?

Hi Yacob

I didn't encounter this before but you should try resetting the system's PRAM.

The PRAM and NVRAM holds some parameters regarding mouse sensitivity, time zone setting, volume and Monitor Depth.

I am quite sure this will do the trick, and very few readjustments will be needed (time zone volume and maybe DVD region - all simple and harmless).

To reset PRAM hold command option+PR

Maybe its a problem specific to the MacPro?

Disconnect the display for 10 minutes and the reconnect. Problem solved!
