Q: Missing color profile metadata in ProRes encoded from tiff image sequence
Hello,
Why the color profile metadata are missing in ProRes .mov files encoded by Compressor when I use tiff image sequence as source?
When I transcode, e.g., V210 (in .mov) to ProRes the color profile metadata are correctly present in the resulting file, but when I transcode tiff image sequence to ProRes they are missing.
Is it a bug or expected behavior?
System info:
- OS X 10.11
- Compressor 4.2.1
- QuickTime 10.4
I use "Get info" in context menu to check the color profile metadata for ProRes .mov files and it says "Color profile: HD (1-1-1)" for V210 source and it is missing for tiff image sequence source.
I tried also ffmpeg ("ffprobe -show_streams <MOV> | grep color_space") and it says "color_space=bt709" for V210 source and "color_space=unknown" for tiff image sequence source.
Thanks,
Martin
