Q: Preparations for upgrade
I have over 13,000 photos in iPhoto 9.6.1. Sooner or later I know I will have to convert to the new Photos App. Some of my photos are in albums but a great many are simply in the 200 events i created. I understand the new Photos may not list the events but group them together in one album. So i wondered if it would be wise if I create a separate albums for each event so as to be able to access them easier when I convert to Photos? Can I create "smart" albums for each event, so if I add pictures to one of them before I convert, it will not be missed in the album in Photos? Is there any other prep work I should be doing before converting? I spend loads of time on each picture, identifying people both by keywords and face recognition, writing long involved notes, and placing the location. I would regret losing any of this information in Photos, which I understand may be a stripped down version of iPhoto. I always have a great deal of trepidation when I make these major upgrades, so comments, suggestions and warnings would be greatly appreciated. I am running El Capitan on a MacBook Pro (early 2011). Thanks in advance.
